Excellent
Location
Rectory Manor is situated in the heart of a stunning location with beautiful grounds and a peaceful, secluded atmosphere. While a car is essential for staying here and for accessing nearby towns such as Lavenham and Long Melford, the surrounding countryside is abundant with beautiful villages and inviting walking trails. The property itself is nestled away in a quiet village location, perfect for those seeking a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Though not located directly in town, the excellent location of Rectory Manor makes it an ideal base for visiting nearby historic towns and exploring the beautiful Suffolk countryside. With its comfortable and large beds, beautiful ambiance and rich history, Rectory Manor is truly a "must" for another visit sometime.
Breakfast
Rectory Manor is a charming hotel that offers a fabulous breakfast that guests rave about in their reviews. The breakfast room features a log fire, creating a cozy ambiance while you dine. The cooked breakfast is made to order with high-quality products and there are plenty of other choices, including a variety of cereals and yoghurts, fresh fruit salad and warmed pastries. Communal breakfast at the long refectory table is particularly enjoyable as you can chat with other guests. The hotel staff is very helpful and the breakfast is excellent. However, the breakfast is overpriced, particularly the continental breakfast for £12, although it's still acceptable. A full English breakfast option is available for £8, which is cooked beautifully. There are some disappointing aspects regarding breakfast, such as the lack of variety in the continental breakfast and the unclear pricing structure, which requires an extra £5 charge for a cooked breakfast. Nonetheless, guests agree that despite these minor flaws, the breakfast at Rectory Manor is exceptional, delicious and unique, offering plenty of variety and gluten-free options, making it a great start to your day.
Rooms

Each room has been tastefully and comfortably decorated with a country house vibe, making it a dream place to stay. The Stables accommodation is first class, while the enchanting room looking out onto the garden and countryside beyond is a definite highlight. Some of the rooms may feel a bit dated or tired and lack attention to detail, but if you're lucky, you'll get a quirky, dog-friendly room that adds to the charm of the place. In general, the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable with lovely big beds and good facilities, even though some come with minor drawbacks like low water pressure or showers that don't really work. The common areas, such as the lounge and dining rooms, are elegant and peaceful, providing the perfect setting for a quiet read or a relaxing meal.

Overall, guests described the facilities as clean and comfortable, but it's worth noting that there were some inconsistencies in housekeeping standards.

The building itself is beautiful and matches perfectly with the garden suite room options available. However, it has been mentioned that occasionally the pool is in need of a deep clean and guests have been disappointed to find it not heated and with pipes and equipment left inside. Despite this, overall, the outdoor pool at Rectory Manor is one of the hotel's highlights and is certainly worth taking advantage of during your stay!
Luxury
Rectory Manor is a beautiful and exceptional property that offers absolute luxury to its guests. The country hotel provides all imaginable comforts for a truly decadent stay. The four-poster rooms are particularly romantic with a lovely calm atmosphere and the Morning room is perfect for a lazy morning with a cup of coffee. If you're lucky enough to stay in one of the rooms with a large, private balcony, you'll enjoy a very romantic setting. The four-poster beds are a standout feature, as is the superb standalone bath.
